Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Accountant. This person will work with a growing team of professionals and will report to the Senior Manager.

 

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and analysis of the business’s Infrastructure’s holding companies, investment vehicles, and asset-level entities (SPVs). They will also assist in the accounting functions of the organization and assist in the collection and consolidation of financial data to prepare financial statements the business and its Funds.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for holding companies and asset-level entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, and working papers across multiple entities.
  • Inputting payments into banking systems
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting financial statements, inclusive of full note disclosure
  • Support valuation processes by providing accurate financial data and variance analysis
  • Assist in preparing monthly asset management reports
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support year-end audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules.
  • Work with external tax advisors on tax compliance, T2 filings, and intercompany documentation.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects, and strategic initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • University/College Degree/Diploma
  • CPA, CA, CMA and/or CGA designation or in process
  • A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience
  • Exposure to IFRS reporting is an asset
  • Exposure to Private Funds and fair value accounting is an asset
  • Experience with Fund accounting is asset
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, maintaining accounting records and general ledger is essential
  • Knowledge with, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge with Quickbooks and SAP is an asset
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
