Property Manager

Our client is a privately-owned Real Estate Development and Property Management company that owns and manages a diverse and growing portfolio of commercial properties. They are committed to excellence in design and service, actively developing new exciting mixed-use and commercial projects.

The Property Manager should be an ambitious self-starter with a passion for real estate, a great service-oriented attitude, possessing strong communication and organizational skills, a positive personality, with the ability to work both independently and with our senior management team.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategies for managing property maintenance schedules and capital projects.
  • Oversee construction and maintenance contractors during service and repairs.
  • Manage BAS and other building operation systems.
  • Address tenant work orders in a prompt and professional manner to meet lease obligations.
  • Review and negotiate construction and property maintenance contracts.
  • Work to meet asset management objectives.
  • Assist the operations group in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Assist controller with yearend audits.
  • Liaise with lease administrators and legal to ensure accuracy of lease information.
  • Work alongside the team to implement best practices to improve relationships and quality of service for our tenants.
  • On call for after-hours emergencies and troubleshooting regarding properties.
  • Other office administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in business or other related field is beneficial.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial property management; experience in other asset classes or RPA/CPM designation is also beneficial.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and multitask.
  • Well-organized, analytical, problem solver with high attention to detail and negotiation skills to manage and resolve issues effectively.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of building operating systems in order to apply critical analysis of proposed capital work.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of all relevant environmental and related regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with property management software such as Yardi.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
