Job Description:
Our client is a growing Commercial Property Management and Residential Development company located in Mississauga.. They have an outstanding opportunity for a Property Accountant to join their accounting team on a part-time permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Owner, the Property Accountant is responsible for a specific portfolio of properties with the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for multiple properties
- Reconciliation of bank statements, mortgages, loans and monthly journal entries.
- Prepare and report monthly HST, Payroll & Other Remittances.
- Prepare and process Tenant CAM/TAX recovery reconciliations annually.
- Investigate and validate recovery rules in tenant leases.
- Prepare, review and post monthly rent roll
- Process Accounts Receivable and follow up on overdue accounts
- Verify code and ensure processing of accounts payable, and review payments for accuracy before submission to Management for signatures.
- Ensure correct chargeback such as utilities to tenants.
- Prepare and submit annual MPAC financial reporting requirement, vacancy rebates.
- Prepare year end audit working papers and liaison with auditors.
- Prepare various weekly and monthly accounting reports and analysis as requested.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for internal management.
- Prepare and reviewing of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Support property management personnel in financial accounting matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or University degree, preferred by not required
- Accounting designation in CPA, CMA/CGA, preferred by not required.
- Minimum 3 years full cycle accounting experience in the Commercial Property Management.
- Strong systems skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail oriented with superior analytical and communications skills.
