Job Description:

Our client within investment management is is looking for a Marketing Specialist to be an integral member of the team. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for providing support to the firm and will work collaboratively across a number of teams to support the success of a comprehensive marketing plan. Reporting to firm leadership, they will be responsible to support tactics such as thought leadership and publications, digital and social promotion, event planning, sponsorships and website maintenance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting with business development and client service initiatives and provide support to the Wealth Managers who are required to develop new client relationships.

The Marketing Specialist must bring marketing execution skills and have the ability to forge strong working relationships and partnerships within a fast-paced environment where initiative, flexibility, and a team attitude are critical. The successful candidate will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves, wear multiple hats, and get into the details. They must be a team player with excellent communication & multi-tasking skills.


  • Leads the execution of the marketing plan and budget, and the implementation of those activities – including campaigns, swag, external communications, events, digital marketing, and PR as needed.
  • Utilizes the editorial calendar to maintain effective schedule of marketing initiatives.
  • Supports the firm’s business objectives by implementing strategies for pursuing new and existing clients and manages the marketing plan and materials to support these activities.
  • Gathers input from select working committees to enhance marketing goals and strategy.
  • Supports the client service and wealth management teams in meeting their objectives by providing them with appropriate marketing tools, materials, proposal support and presentations.
  • Collaborates with the client service and wealth management teams in creating events that target new clients and expands the firm’s reach. Manages the logistics and the creation of all event marketing (in person, hybrid and webinar) and presentation materials.
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure quality and timeliness of strategic implementations.
  • Creates and edits content for firm publications, website, blog, social media, sponsorships and other initiatives – providing a consistent look and feel.
  • Manages and updates the website and the posting of content on a regular basis, making required updates, reviewing analytics and making improvements as required (Blog content and posting online, issue client emails, etc.).
  • Coordinates with staff to identify opportunities to promote company expertise, such as thought leadership pieces, campaigns, web content, emails, and webcasts.
  • Provide support firm-wide on branding.
  • Executes compliance approval process of all marketing documents.


  • Knowledge of the investment industry and related regulatory and compliance requirements considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of marketing channels including; print, digital, social media, internal and external communications, advertising, events and email marketing (including CASL compliance).
  • Proficient in the use of various marketing software/automation/apps/tools: Email automation (Campaign Manager, Mailchimp), WordPress, Google Ads & Analytics, CRM, Microsoft Suite, Adobe.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and be hands on with many different areas of the firm.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal skills.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of social media (e.g. LinkedIn) and its use in a business context.
  • Strong creative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create compelling marketing designs/presentations to a variety of audiences using visual aids, slide shows and other media.
  • Well developed, fast and accurate copy writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills-the candidate must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff and clients in a positive, collaborative manner.
  • A team player who can forge strong working relationships and partnerships within a fast-paced environment where initiative, flexibility, and a team attitude are critical.
