Job Description:

Our client within advisory services require an HR Generalist to join their team. Based in Toronto, and reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist supports daily functions of the HR department that primarily focuses on talent acquisition and full cycle recruitment. Other key duties include administrating the orientation and onboarding process of new employees, training company employees about corporate policies and procedures, and providing other back end administrative support to the corporate workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the talent acquisition and recruitment processes by owning the recruitment lifecycle including request for hire requisitions, collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required, creating job descriptions, posting roles, sourcing and interviewing candidates (active & passive), conducting reference checks and background checks, and administering offers of employment
  • Coordinate and assist in facilitating employee onboarding and other compliance, training & development initiatives
  • Enrolling employees in company sponsored benefits plans and overseeing the day-to-day administration plans
  • Using ADP Workforce Now and electronic filing system to ensure all employee records are organized, up-to-date, and confidential
  • Configure, implement, and utilize ADP Workforce Now recruitment module to transition from manual processes
  • Facilitate and track compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
  • Assist in event coordination including but not limited to quarterly townhalls, celebration events, teambuilding events, and other HR culture-based initiatives
  • Reporting by using Excel and ADP to gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
  • Create and maintain ADP HRIS reports (i.e., work anniversaries, birthdays, new hires, terminations, change reports, etc.)
  • Create and maintain recruitment reports (i.e., open positions, vacancy date, fill date, time to hire, source of hire, turnover rates, etc.)
  • Conduct and document exit interviews
  • Other duties and responsibilities to support the HR Director and Company from time to time as needed including but not limited to organizing meetings and expense reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of full cycle recruitment experience in the financial services or related industry (i.e., proxy advisory firm, governance, capital markets)
  • 2+ years of HR Generalist experience
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now, and in particular, the recruitment module, and implementation experience considered a strong asset
  • Solid, demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience administering company sponsored benefit plans including enrollments, terminations, changes, and conducting reconciliations
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • CHRP/CHRL considered a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
