Job Description:

Our client within advertising and located in Etobicoke requires a Front End Developer to join their team. The Front-End Web Developer will work with a small team of developers, and in conjunction with the creative department to create effective online marketing programs for several clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients to take technical specifications of new projects and to make technical recommendations based upon industry best practices
  • Work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders to plan, code, test, refine and launch best-in-class digital properties, i.e.: Mobile friendly or responsive websites, CMS-based sites
  • SEM campaigns
  • Custom plugins
  • Transactional forms
  • Marketing portals
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Must be able to translate a design to HTML with extreme focus on detail and accuracy
  • Conform to in-house and industry programming design methodologies for the development and implementation of Internet-based applications to support all aspects of web site functionalities
  • Responsible for developing and managing content for multiple websites (new and existing)
  • Improve SEO rankings through technical web site enhancements, link building strategies, social bookmarks, site searches, internal process improvement, and optimization
  • Troubleshoot and address technical concerns, requests, and changes from Clients. Work closely with designers to create effective user interfaces (including forms, geo-location tools, CMS)
  • Develop, update, and maintain shopping cart/portal sites for clients (ie: Magento, PrestaShop, and XCart)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Diploma or Degree in related discipline
  • Strong grasp of HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery, Javascript, PHP
  • Can work on Mac and PC platforms
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (ie: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • An eye for design/UI and incredible attention to detail
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excel in a team environment
  • Knowledge of how SEO and SEM works
  • Experience using PHP MVC frameworks (i.e.: CodeIgniter, Laravel)
  • Experience using web-based content management systems (i.e.: Drupal,
  • Joomla, WordPress)
  • Experience using email service providers (i.e.: ConstantContact, Campaign
  • Monitor, Mail Chimp)
  • Adept at keeping up with industry trends
  • Experience coding websites using responsive design methodology
