Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Director of IT to join their team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of IT will lead and oversee technology infrastructure and IT operations of the company, ensuring the organization’s systems align with its business strategy and objectives. You will establish long-term IT goals, and drive initiatives related to system performance, cybersecurity, cloud services, and innovation. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s goals.
- Collaborate with senior management and department heads to identify IT solutions that support business needs.
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and upgrading of IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Ensure continuous availability and reliability of systems, applications, and networks.
- Manage cloud services, data centers, and on-premises infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect company data and systems.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while meeting the company’s technological needs.
- Oversee and manage IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Provide onboarding support to all new employees
- Work closely with project stakeholders to define objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Establish IT policies and best practices to ensure data security and system efficiency.
- Regularly review and update IT governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and industry regulations.
- Oversee the management of cloud and on-premises computer systems infrastructure and networks.
- Provide on-call/afterhours support when required for urgent matters.
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex network architectures including LAN, WAN, and VPN.
- Ensure smooth operations of complex server backups and monitoring software, oversee the IT Disaster Recovery plan, and manage and test the IT Disaster Recovery strategy.
- WordPress website maintenance / content management (training provided as needed)
- Provide advanced technical support and problem-solving, specifically with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPOs, Firewalls, VLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Azure, RDS.
- Collaborate with department stakeholders to assess technology support needs, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and manage system access, upgrades, and installations
- Responding and assigning tickets for infrastructure-related incidents, making sure all are dealt with in accordance with SLA requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience working in a health-care setting/environment is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
- Proven experience managing IT projects and budgets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in PC, iPhones and Android technical support, including hardware, operating system configuration and some software support
- Self-directed with the ability to work well independently and cooperatively with others
