Job Description:

Our client within private equity requires a Corporate Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and prepare financial statements for corporate entities and the management companies
  • Assist in preparing corporate and partnership tax returns
  • Prepare bank deposits, wire transfers.
  • Reconcile bank and GL accounts and bank reconciliations.
  • Full cycle of Accounts receivable and payable duties, including expense reports, in compliance with firm’s policies and procedures
  • Allocation of deal expenses and reconciliations.
  • Prepare HST returns
  • Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
  • Preparing billing of expenses to portfolio companies
  • Other ad-hoc reports and analysis

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree (university or college) with a focus on business or accounting
  • Actively pursing a CPA is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and grow their role
  • Some experience using QuickBooks would be deemed an asset
