Job Description:

Our client, a residential property owner/manager require a bookkeeper on a part-time basis who will also perform some office administration and accounting tasks as needed.


  • Skilled person required to maintain financial records and reporting records for real estate operations ( two residential real estate properties)
  • Strong bookkeeping skills required to record financial transactions for a number of investment companies with a number of investment accounts
  • Updating and maintaining excel spreadsheet information for the real estate company and the investment companies on a regular basis
  • Strong knowledge required for bank reconciliations and monthly reporting
  • Good interpersonal skills required to deal with on site representatives at the real estate locations
  • Perform all administrative duties required to run a small private office—pay bills, mail out cheques, respond to accountant questions, filing documents, organizing the office
  • Deal with recurring monthly items such as mortgage payments, rent payments, operating costs…
  • Learn and take care of all items related to residential rental properties—-learn the process to deal with tenants not paying on time and tenants being very late paying and learning how to communicate with tenants and the Rent Tribunal
  • Possibly dealing with construction trades and handymen and the administration of payments to these groups
  • Multiple companies are run out of the same office so strong organizational skills are required
  • The position is a full time position but may not require full time hours every week


  • Must have excellent knowledge and experience with QuickBooks
  • Must have excellent knowledge and experience with Excel and Word
  • Must have enough accounting knowledge to understand capital gains and losses and dividends and how to record stock market items
  • Must be very comfortable with computers and printers and scanners
  • Must be interested in learning about multi residential rental properties
