Job Description:

Our downtown client within property management requires an Assistant PM to join their team. This role will be responsible for the property management of the company’s existing and fast-growing portfolio of commercial space. The position will provide exposure to our real estate management process, portfolio management, project and facilities management. The Assistant PM as led by the Director, Real Estate Operations, will assist with implementation of processes and procedures as well as streamlining operational practices.


  • Work closely with the PM team, business units and brokers to assist with the achievement of business goals
  • Support in the negotiation of profesional lease agreements
  • Responsible for managing existing properties and future acquisitions
  • Support through internal collaboration the management of long-term/short-term leases and act as a liaison between the landlord and tenant
  • Support in the supervision of construction managers and third-party providers
  • Assist in the management of project budgets
  • Contribute to preliminary project budget discussions and anticipated project timelines
  • Be accountable for clear and concise communication with upper management through all phase of each project
  • Complete timely review and processing of vendor invoices to ensure accurate services were provided prior to payment
  • Support the RFP and ITB processes, ensuring they are handled legally and with integrity
  • Ensure the application of facilities management best practices across all locations, ensuring customer service, quality assurance, operational efficiency and risk mitigation are adhered to
  • Support in the management of landlord relationships and resolve disputes timely and with the utmost professionalism
  • Support in the oversight and management of existing and prospective building operations staff
  • Support from an administrative perspective the smooth operations of building systems management related to HVAC, electrical and other physical building aspects
  • Support in move management, new or internal moves as well as construction and/or renovations


  • 5+ years of relevant commercial real estate experience in commercial property manaegment
  • 4+ year university degree or equivalent
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and carry out multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • A well defined sense of diplomacy including solid negotiation skills, conflict resolution and people management skills
  • Computer literacy including effective working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong client service and troubleshooting skills
  • Professional appearance and manners
