Job Description:

Our client, a not for profit association requires an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team. Accounts Payable is a three-day position with the other two days spent on back up of other desks in the Finance Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Key Invoices
  • Cheque Runs /EFTs/Wires
  • Expense Reports
  • Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, invoices, statements, etc.
  • Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Maintaining historical records
  • Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing cheque runs
  • Paying vendors by scheduling pay cheque runs and EFT’S, wires and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance
  • Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Continuing to improve the payment process
  • Book orders – mail out and ensure payment has been received
  • Maintain Book inventory- returns follow correct procedure.
  • Inventory Counts

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Accounts Payable
  • An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required.
  • Business Studies
  • Accounting
  • Attention to detail and data entry skills
  • Client service skills
